The “Hamburg Photo Days Foundation” was brought into being by the Hamburger Photo Days Association and is supported by some former members and friends of the association.
As early as 1971, the initiators of the later “Hamburger Fototage eV”, at that time still under the umbrella of the photo group in the Philips sports community, developed the idea for a special and thus today’s oldest photo flea market and this in the 1969 by Günter Pohl “Hamburg Photo Days” series of events.
The association was founded in 1973, which created the basis for the successful continuation of the tradition that had just been established.
For more than forty years, the association has endeavored to promote the public perception of photography in all its various aspects… and one can say: deservedly so.
In November/December 2015, the association’s public activities ended with the 47th Hamburg Photo Days.
